Moving up to the next grade
I have two graduates this year! My oldest is heading to Middle school and my youngest is entering kindergarten. Wow! I never thought this day would come when I have no kids at home with me during the day. It’s very bitter-sweet. As I write this tears are flowing down my face. I’m not that Mother who is counting down the days until her kids leave the nest. I’m not good with change so I know that it will be a big adjustment for me. In no way will I enable them to stay. I might bribe them! Just playing. I did tell them that they have to go to college close by. With joy they all agreed! We will see if they hold up on their side of the bargain when the time comes. I know I can’t make them stay but I can’t imagine only seeing my children once or twice a year.
I think that I am more excited about middle school than Jadeon is! This is a new journey for all of us. I’m excited to see how middle school will change him. Some of the differences between elementary and middle is that he will be going to around 7 different classes and they will have lockers. That’s all I know! lol! In middle school you also can start playing sports for school but not until 7th grade. By the time Brynn enters middle school I will be a pro!
Brynn is so excited to be starting kindergarten! She asks me everyday when is she going to start school. She will be one of the younger kindergartens because she turns 5 in July. Some parents choose to wait a year to enroll their child in kindergarten. But, I believe that she is ready. If her preschool teacher would have advised me to wait a year then I would have given it second thought. Every Mother knows their children and what’s right for them.
As for the other two Caleb is going into fourth and Kamren in 1st. They will be going to a brand new school since we are being rezoned. This is our second time being rezoned. So that is something to keep in mind if you are in a growing city. I’m lucky that my kids are better with change than I am. They are excited about going to a new school. Although, they are going to a new school some of their friends will also be attending.
Although, I’m sad they are growing up so quickly. I am excited to see what the future has in store for them.
